Lay Employment Sub-Committee

Yorkshire West Methodist District are looking for a lay person with experience of (or a keen interest in) HR to join the District Lay Employment Sub-committee, which has responsibility for the oversight of the management of lay employment positions within the District. The Sub-committee takes an overview of District Employment Policy and ensures we seek to enable the highest employment standards across the District. The role requires attendance at meetings, four times a year, which usually take place online on a Monday morning. In addition, following advice from the District Lay Employment Team, members of the Sub-committee have responsibility for approving lay employment documentation throughout the year to ensure it meets both legal compliance and best practice.

Skills that we would value:

A desire to see the best employment standards across the District.

Reasonable knowledge of employment practices.

Experience of line management.

Strategic view of employment policy.

If you would like further information, please contact Melanie Walsh, the District Lay Employment Contact, via layemployment@ywmethodist.org.uk or 01274 442671.
